Olaf Kraus de Camargo, Prof. Dr.

(Canada), Associate Professor Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University and the Co-director CanChild Centre Childhood Disability Research

We are honored to welcome Dr. Olaf Kraus de Camargo as a distinguished keynote speaker at the inaugural International Medical Conference in Curaçao. Dr. Kraus de Camargo will share his insights on the vital role of teamwork in promoting the wellbeing of healthcare professionals. Dr. Kraus de Camargo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University and co-director of the CanChild Centre for Childhood Disability Research. He also practices as a developmental pediatrician at the Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre in Hamilton, Ontario. His clinical and research endeavors focus on childhood-onset disabilities, with a commitment to family-centered care and interdisciplinary collaboration. With a medical degree from the University of São Paulo and specialized training in developmental-behavioral pediatrics and child neurology from Germany, Dr. Kraus de Camargo has held significant positions, including Professor of Social Medicine at the University of Applied Sciences Nordhausen and CEO of Kinderzentrum Pelzerhaken gGmbH, a center for children with developmental and neurological disorders. A leading advocate for the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF), Dr. Kraus de Camargo has contributed to its implementation in clinical practice and education. He co-edited “ICF: A Hands-On Approach for Clinicians and Families,” which aims to enhance the understanding of children’s needs beyond diagnostic labels.
